Hanold Associates Recruits Chief HR Officer for Charter NEX Films

Hanold Associates recruited Michael Studdard as the Chief Human Resources Officer for Charter NEX Films. Jason Hanold, Keri Gavin and Karlis Antons led the search for the role located at Charter Nex’s headquarters in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area.

Founded in 1989 and based in Milton, Wisconsin, Charter NEX Films is North America’s leading independent producer of high-performance specialty films used in flexible packaging and other critical performance applications.

With both blown and cast film capabilities, the company serves a diverse array of clients across eight major industry segments: Retail Food & Beverage, Institutional Food & Beverage, Agricultural/Lawn & Garden, General Purpose, Graphics/Labels, Health & Beauty, Surface Protection, and Health Care. The company’s engineered solutions include monolayer, coextruded and barrier films that deliver exceptional finished quality with improved productivity.

Charter NEX has grown exponentially over the past eight years and in April 2017, private equity firm Leonard Green acquired a majority stake in the company from Pamplona for $1.5 billion. Oak Hill Capital Partners owns a minority stake in the company.

Today, Charter NEX Films has seven manufacturing facilities located in Superior, Bloomer, Rhinelander, and Milton, Wisconsin; Delaware, Ohio; Turners Falls, Massachusetts; and Blythwood, South Carolina.

Mr. Studdard will report to Chief Executive Officer, Kathy Bolhous, and based at the Milton, Wisconsin, headquarters, he will play a critical, strategic, and highly involved role as a member of the senior leadership team in building out the human resources infrastructure for scalable growth. Mr. Studdard will be responsible for aligning human resources activity with an aggressive growth business strategy and managing the seven HR representatives at each manufacturing plant indirectly through the Human Resources Manager.
