Southern Veterinary Partners is a leading network of animal hospitals that provides the highest quality of care to companion animals. It has grown rapidly through acquisition over the last four years, expanding to over $150 million in revenue and 70 veterinary hospitals, located largely in the Southeast. In May 2018, SVP raised additional capital from original investor Shore Capital (a middle market, healthcare-focused private equity firm headquartered in Chicago) and new investor Sequoia Heritage Fund (an affiliate of the global venture capital firm Sequoia Capital headquartered in Menlo Park) to support an increased pace of hospital acquisition and the further development of capabilities and infrastructure in the core business. The business plans to expand to more than 250 hospitals over the next 5-8 years. The company is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and has more than 1,500 employees.
